People are really beautiful. There are so many quirks and unique qualities about the select mix of characteristics within each person. Especially those people who you can tell are genuine and true to who they are inside. Their inner self- the self that exists in the space between thoughts, the energy beneath the words and the expression, the phenomenon under the skin.
People are exceptional.
They can surprise you on the streets, smiling at you out of the blue as you walk along stressing out about an issue in your life. Suddenly you feel a little better and you can't quite explain why. A heartfelt smile exchanged is one of the most exquisite feelings in the world. It's my soul connecting with yours on an intimate level as you look at me, eye to eye, and smile. It is the ultimate form of acceptance- I see you and I honour the beingness of you.
Receiving compliments is a wonderful feeling when they're given from an authentic place, but being able to give one and see the joy colour into a persons face and feel the lilt in their voice is an extraordinary feeling that can't quite be put into words. Being in the midst of appreciating someone is like a natural high, just as much as being appreciated is. In romance it is often experienced because for some it's the only time they let their guard down long enough to not just see anothers beauty but be present to it and express the appreciation.
Sometimes it's the eccentricities, the realness of them that can catch you off guard. A quaint word or phrase rarely verbalized, a love of '20s music. Maybe it's how they're so different than you ever imagined that you find so endearing- they're like a constant surprise, a journey of experience.
People are an adventure, in appreciating them recognize that the humanness that endears them to you is also present in you. If it wasn't you wouldn't be able to see it in them. We are mirrors that hold streams and rivulets of stories within us.
I love your humanity, the fact that being so similar we can yet be so different. Thank you for being you. As much as I can love me, I am enabled to love you.
This much I know is true.
